ULTIMATE FRISBEE RULES
Game starts with both teams lined up at their end zone and the frisbee is thrown to the offense from the defense.
The game is played by throwing and catching the frisbee.
Players with possession of the frisbee must:
Not Move (except for pivoting on a single foot)
Throw the frisbee within 10 seconds of receiving it
The defense must count these seconds as “1 rainbow, 2 rainbows, etc.”
If the frisbee is fumbled, the pass is not complete, there is contact from the defense, or it goes out of bounds, the non offending team gets possession.
A point is scored when the frisbee is caught inside the other team’s end zone. Game starts again the same way it started at the beginning.
No picks or contact of any kind is allowed.
CAPTURE THE FLAG RULE
All players must tuck in their shirts all around or wear them so that they do not interfere with the flags
Flags must be worn 1 on each hip.
Teams are assigned a side of the field.
Object of the game is to get the other team’s flag to your side of the field.
Defined as a player with the flag in hand, crossing the center line.
Flag can be passed between players but if it falls to the ground, gets put back on the goal post
Players’ flags can only be taken if they are on the other team’s side.
If a players’ flag is taken on the other team’s side, they must go to jail on that team’s side.
Players in jail are released when a member of their team who still has their flags enters the jail.
Released in the order they entered.
Players can only release one player at a time and must cross back on to their side before releasing more.
If a player with the flag is sent to jail, they must first put the flag back on the goal post before going to jail.
OUTDOOR SOCCER RULES
Ideally 10 on 10
Game starts with a dice roll. One team calls odds or evens. If they guess correctly they start with the ball in the middle circle. No other team members are allowed in this circle until the ball is kicked. Whichever team didn't get the opening kick, gets the one after half time.
You may not use your hands or arms (below the shoulder) to play the ball, unless you are the goalie.
You may use any other part of your body to play the ball.
No contact is allowed. This includes picks and slide tackles.
Any foul results in a free kick from where the foul occurred.
Call out “foul” if there is an infraction.
If the ball goes out of bounds:
on the sidelines, it is thrown, rolled, or kicked in to play by the team who didn't touch it last before it went out of play.
below the baseline
at the fault of the offense, the team who didn't cause the infraction gets a free kick from where the basketball key and the baseline meet.
at the fault of the defense, the offense gets a kick from the corner where the sideline and baseline meet.
No one is allowed in the goal crease, except for the goalie
Each goal results in 1 point.
After every goal, the ball is kicked off at center, by the team that didn't score.
No cherry picking (hanging out in the other teams end while everyone else is playing in your zone).
Changes happen on the fly and during stoppages of play. Please be courteous with playing time.
Any injury where the player is unable to get up results in a stoppage of play.
Rules we don't play with
Offside
Strict throw in rules
OUTDOOR HANDBALL RULES
Ideally 10 on 10
Game starts with the ball at half. One team starts off by throwing the ball anywhere they want.
The game is played by throwing and catching the ball.
You may use any part of your body that is above the knee to play the ball.
If you get possession of the ball, you have 3 options:
Pass it to another player
Take a shot on goal
Take 3 steps.
Players allowed one "dribble" in order to take 3 more steps, but only 6 steps per player is allowed at any possession.
No contact is allowed. This includes picks and slide tackles.
Any foul results in a free throw from where the foul occurred.
Call out “foul” if there is an infraction.
5. If the ball goes out of bounds:
on the sidelines, it is thrown, rolled, or kicked in to play by the team who didn't touch it last before it went out of play.
below the baseline
at the fault of the offense, the team who didn't cause the infraction gets a free throw from in front of the net roughly where the crease would be.
at the fault of the defense, the offense gets a throw from the corner where the sideline and baseline meet.
6. No one is allowed in the goal crease, except for the goalie
Goalies are the only player allowed to use their feet.
7. Each goal results in 1 point.
8. After every goal, the ball is thrown off at center, by the team that didn't score.
9. No cherry picking (hanging out in the other teams end while everyone else is playing in your zone).
10. Changes happen on the fly and during stoppages of play. Please be courteous with playing time.
11. Any injury where the player is unable to get up results in a stoppage of play.
FLAG FOOTBALL RULES
10 on 10
All players must tuck in their shirts all around or wear them so that they do not interfere with the flags
Flags must be worn 1 on each hip and 1 in the middle of the behind.
One team kicks off to the other team, who returns the ball.
Any kickoff landing out-of-bounds results in a re-kick from the middle of the field.
No touchbacks
Play may advance by running/walking or backwards passes.
If a player who has possession of the ball has a flag removed, they are “flagged” and play stops.
If you remove a flag, you must either drop it immediately where you pulled it or freeze with it in your hand.
The ball is placed where the flag was removed. This is the line of scrimmage.
Teams must line up on their side of this line.
The ball will be “snapped” in a backward motion to a player who is playing Quarterback.
The quarterback must change each down.
Defense must count to “7 Rainbows” out loud before they can attempt to take the quarterback’s flag. They must stay on their side of the line until the 7th Rainbow, even if the ball is dropped (Fumble).
The quarterback can choose to kick, throw, handoff, or run the ball at any point in time.
All players can receive the ball.
Whoever is in possession of the ball is the only player you can take a flag from. They must have the ball before you can take their flag.
Once their flag is taken, they are flagged
They cannot “stiff arm”
They cannot guard their flags with any part of their body.
If the player with the ball goes out of bounds (1 foot), play stops and where they went out of bounds is the new line of scrimmage.
The Offense has 4 tries (downs) to get 10 “yards” (as measured by the same person’s foot each time).
If they do not get the 10 yards or further, they turn over the ball in place.
If they reach the 10 yards or further before the 4th down, they get 4 more to get 10 more yards. This is indefinite until they score.
may punt the ball on the 4th down, but must announce it. Cannot be a trick play.
You score by being in the opposing team’s “end zone” with the ball in your possession or kicking a successful field goal
Each touchdown is worth:
Automatic 7: 7 points, no attempts after
Points after attempts: 6 points and can choose to kick a field goal from a certain point out for 1 extra point or throw/run the ball into the end zone for 2 extra points.
Each Field Goal is worth 3 points.
There is NO CONTACT.
Any contact other than a light brush, reaching for a flag will result in a 10 yard penalty.
Defense can intercept a pass, block a pass, block a kick, etc.
If at any time, the ball hits the ground, the play is dead.
If it was in someone’s controlled possession, the line of scrimmage moves to where the ball was dropped.
If it was not in someone’s controlled possession, the play goes back to the line of scrimmage.
Teams will be given a white board and allowed 1, 10 second huddle before each play.
Once the ball has passed the line of scrimmage, passes and handoffs can only move backwards.
Penalties
Contact (light, accidental): 10 yards
Not waiting 7 rainbows: 10 yards
Trick starts (playing like you’re going to snap the ball but not doing it): 10 yards
Offsides (offense moving beyond the line before the ball is snapped): 10 yards
Pulling a flag off a player who doesn’t yet have the ball: 10 yards.
Forward pass in front of the line of scrimmage: 5 yards
Guarded flag: 10 yards
Any penalty committed by the offense stops play and the ball is returned to the line of scrimmage before the penalty yards are added.
Any touchdown scored on the play with a penalty does not count.
