Rules
Rule Changes Specific to WRSC
The removal of Over & Back
The removal of a shot clock
5 seconds in the key, but non-defensive players must be in motion (We're calling the key the zip zone, because ideally you should be moving in and out of it)
The addition of a 4 point shot (from behind half court)
New foul system
Players are allowed to dribble with both hands at the same time.
Each team will be allowed 1, 30 second timeout per game.
If a collective member from each team (or a captain if none are present) agrees, a collective timeout can be called for a quick chat to clarify any rules that need it. If this happens, all players must pay attention to the chat. This is not to be used as a strategic time out.
After a basket is scored, the team that scored is not allowed to play defense unless they are in their defensive zone (their side of the half court line). This rule is not in effect for turnovers, missed baskets, out of bounds, etc. During turnover situations, full court defense is allowed.
Players are not to question or dispute referee calls. If there is a question or issue, players are to speak to their captains. Captains can calmly and respectfully approach the referee during a stoppage of play to ask about the call but cannot argue. They can take the information back to the player who asked about it.
The referees will make mistakes, but their calls are final.
FOUL SYSTEM
ALL contact is a foul.
This means no Picks or Boxing Out

Fouls have 3 levels:

Yellow: A foul deemed unnecessarily rough, but not overly aggressive or targeted (2 yellows results in an ejection & is reviewed by The Collective). Tracked on the Game Sheet.
Red: An overly aggressive or targeted foul (1 red results in ejection & is reviewed by The Collective). Tracked on the Game Sheet.
Any foul against the offence results in a foul shot.
Only 1 foul shot is awarded for a foul against the offence.
A foul against the defense is a turnover with an inbounding of the ball.
