GENERAL CLUB RULES
All players must be 18+
All players must reside in Canada
All sports with WRSC are no contact.
Rules of sports will be altered to remove contact
We are a scent-free environment. Please refrain for wearing any scents while participating in activities (eg. perfume, cologne, after shave, eau de toilette, etc.)
If you are sick or not feeling well (even if you tested negative for Covid-19), please do not attend any activities or gym sessions.
Sturdy, closed-toed, non-marking footwear is required.
Hard shell knee pads, elbow pads, or wrist guards are not allowed unless specified by the sport’s rules.
Soft pads and hard, soccer-style shin guards are welcome whenever a player would like to wear them.
All injuries must be reported to either your captain or Bolt
All participants must fill out a waiver before participating.
Respect and Consent are mandatory.
All players are required to sign in on the Game Sheet upon arrival.
All referee’s calls are final and are not to be disputed/argued. Any issues or questions should be directed to your captain and/or Bolt
Players are NEVER to make a call on the floor. They are to always look to the referee for a call.
Please note that no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the building at any point in time.
There is also no smoking or vaping of any kind on the property (this includes the parking lot, please go across the street)
The only food or beverage allowed to be consumed in the building is water.
FOUL SYSTEM
ALL contact is a foul.
This means no Picks or Boxing Out
No hands directly in someone’s face
No pushing off others to get open
Fouls have 3 levels:
Green: Oopsie, every day fouls (Cannot foul out with only greens)
Yellow: A foul deemed unnecessarily rough, but not overly aggressive or targeted (2 yellows results in an ejection & is reviewed by The Club). Tracked on the Game Sheet.
Red: An overly aggressive or targeted foul (1 red results in ejection & is reviewed by The Club). Tracked on the Game Sheet.
Any foul against the offence results in a foul shot.
Only 1 foul shot is awarded for a foul against the offence.
A foul against the defense is a turnover with an inbounding of the ball.
SCORING SYSTEM
1 pt for each foul shot made
2 pts for a shot made anywhere in front of the 3pt line
3 pts for a shot made where both feet are behind the 3pt line before the shot is taken
4 pts for a shot made with both feet behind the half court line before the shot is taken
OVERALL RULES
No boxing out, no picks, and no contact.
Any contact results in a foul
A foul against the offense results in 1 free throw
A foul against the defense results in a stoppage of play and the defense gaining the ball on the sideline
The ball is live right after a free throw.
Jump balls start each half
If the ball goes out of bounds, the team who didn't touch it last gains possession and inbounds it
No player can be in the key for more than 3 seconds. Non-defensive players must be in motion (We're calling the key the zip zone, because ideally you should be moving in and out of it)
Once the player has dribbled the ball and picked it up, they cannot dribble it again. This is called double dribble. Ball goes to the opposing team on the sideline.
Once a player has picked up the ball, they are allowed to pass, pivot, shoot, or take 2 steps with the ball. Any more than 2 steps results in a travel. Ball goes to the opposing team on the sideline.
After a basket is scored, the other team inbounds the ball from behind their defensive baseline.
After a basket is scored, the team that scored is not allowed to play defense unless they are in their defensive zone (their side of the half court line). This rule is not in effect for turnovers, missed baskets, out of bounds, etc. During turnover situations, full court defense is allowed.
Play will be stopped if a player falls and is unable to or decides it's in their best interest to not get up. The ball will go to the other team when play resumes.
Each team will be allowed 1, 30 second timeout per game.
If a captain from each team agrees, a timeout can be called for a quick chat to clarify any rules that need it. If this happens, all players must pay attention to the chat. This is not to be used as a strategic time out.
Players are not to question or dispute referee calls. If there is a question or issue, players are to speak to their captains. Captains can calmly and respectfully approach the referee during a stoppage of play to ask about the call but cannot argue. They can take the information back to the player who asked about it.
The referees will make mistakes, but their calls are final.
Changes happen on the fly and during stoppages of play. Please be courteous with playing time.
Rules we don't play with

Over and back
Double handed dribbling counting as a double dribble. Dribbling with both hands on the ball is allowed in this club.
