GENERAL RULES

• All players must be 18+ 

• All sports with WRSC are no contact. 

  • Rules of sports will be altered to remove contact

• We are a scent-free environment. Please refrain for wearing any scents while participating in activities (eg. perfume, cologne, after shave, eau de toilette, etc.)

• If you are sick or not feeling well (even if you tested negative for Covid-19), please do not attend any activities or gym sessions.

• Sturdy, athletic footwear is required. 

  • Metal spikes are not permitted. Plastic ones are welcome. 

• Hard shell knee pads, elbow pads, or wrist guards are not allowed unless specified by the sport’s rules. 

  • Soft pads and hard, soccer-style shin guards are welcome whenever a player would like to wear them.

• All injuries must be reported to either your captain or Bolt

• All participants must fill out a waiver before participating.

• Respect and Consent are mandatory. 

• All players are required to sign in on the Game Sheet upon arrival.

• All referee’s calls are final and are not to be disputed/argued. Any issues or questions should be directed to your captain and/or Bolt

• All fouls/penalties will follow our stoplight system: 

  • Green: Not recorded or tracked. Oopsie, everyday, unintentional fouls that are not overly aggressive

  • Yellow: Warning fouls resulting from dangerous, aggressive, overly competitive, or rough play. Can also be given for verbal interactions that violate our code of conduct. 2 Yellow fouls in one game or 4 in a season results in removal from the game and could result in further disciplinary actions.

  • Red: Overly aggressive, intentional, malicious, or targeted actions, including verbal actions. Results in immediate removal from the game and further disciplinary actions. 

ULTIMATE FRISBEE RULES

1. Game starts with both teams lined up at their end zone and the frisbee is thrown to the offense from the defense.

2. The game is played by throwing and catching the frisbee.

3. Players with possession of the frisbee must: 

   • Not Move (except for pivoting on a single foot)

   • Throw the frisbee within 10 seconds of receiving it

     • The defense must count these seconds as “1 rainbow, 2 rainbows, etc.”

4. If the frisbee is fumbled, the pass is not complete, there is contact from the defense, or it goes out of bounds, the non offending team gets possession.

5. A point is scored when the frisbee is caught inside the other team’s end zone. Game starts again the same way it started at the beginning.

6. No picks or contact of any kind is allowed.

CAPTURE THE FLAG RULE

1. All players must tuck in their shirts all around or wear them so that they do not interfere with the flags

   1. Flags must be worn 1 on each hip.

2. Teams are assigned a side of the field. 

3. Object of the game is to get the other team’s flag to your side of the field. 

   1. Defined as a player with the flag in hand, crossing the center line. 

   2. Flag can be passed between players but if it falls to the ground, it gets put back on the goal post

4. Players’ flags can only be taken if they are on the other team’s side. 

   1. If a players’ flag is taken on the other team’s side, they must go to jail on that team’s side.

   2. Players in jail are released when a member of their team who still has their flags enters the jail. 

      1. Released in the order they entered. 

      2. Players can only release one player at a time and must cross back on to their side before releasing more.

      3. If a player with the flag is sent to jail, they must first put the flag back on the goal post before going to jail.

OUTDOOR SOCCER RULES

Ideally 10 on 10

1. Game starts with a dice roll. One team calls odds or evens. If they guess correctly they start with the ball in the middle circle. No other team members are allowed in this circle until the ball is kicked. Whichever team didn't get the opening kick, gets the one after half time.

2. You may not use your hands or arms (below the shoulder) to play the ball, unless you are the goalie.

   1. You may use any other part of your body to play the ball.

3. No contact is allowed. This includes picks and slide tackles. 

   1. Any foul results in a free kick from where the foul occurred.

   2. Call out “foul” if there is an infraction. 

4. If the ball goes out of bounds:

   1. on the sidelines, it is thrown, rolled, or kicked in to play by the team who didn't touch it last before it went out of play.

   2. below the baseline 

      1. at the fault of the offense, the team who didn't cause the infraction gets a free kick from where the basketball key and the baseline meet.

      2. at the fault of the defense, the offense gets a kick from the corner where the sideline and baseline meet.

5. No one is allowed in the goal crease, except for the goalie

6.  Each goal results in 1 point.

7. After every goal, the ball is kicked off at center, by the team that didn't score.

8. No cherry picking (hanging out in the other teams end while everyone else is playing in your zone).

9. Changes happen on the fly and during stoppages of play. Please be courteous with playing time.

10. Any injury where the player is unable to get up results in a stoppage of play.

OUTDOOR HANDBALL RULES

Ideally 10 on 10

1. Game starts with the ball at half. One team starts off by throwing the ball anywhere they want.

2. The game is played by throwing and catching the ball. 

   1. You may use any part of your body that is above the knee to play the ball. 

3. If you get possession of the ball, you have 3 options: 

   1. Pass it to another player

   2. Take a shot on goal

   3. Take 3 steps. 

      1. Players allowed one "dribble" in order to take 3 more steps, but only 6 steps per player is allowed at any possession.

4. No contact is allowed. This includes picks and slide tackles. 

1. Any foul results in a free throw from where the foul occurred.

2. Call out “foul” if there is an infraction.
