Policies & Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

The success of the WRSC is a result of the commitment of its members to abide by the founding spirit of the club. Members of WRSC are to conduct themselves in a sportsperson-like manner respecting not only teammates and opposing players, but also referees, timekeepers, and City of Windsor staff.

All members agree to uphold the following tenets of the Spirit of the Club at all WRSC activities:

Members of the WRSC shall conduct themselves at all times in a fair and responsible manner and refrain from comments or behaviours which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic. In particular, behaviour which constitutes harassment or abuse will not be tolerated. WRSC reserves the right to act on violations of the Code of Conduct, up to and including expulsion if deemed necessary.

In the interest of player safety and providing a positive, recreational sport environment, members shall not engage in activity or behavior that endangers the safety of others. In addition to penalties that may be called during games, WRSC reserves the right to address dangerous and overly aggressive play. In extreme circumstances, and if deemed necessary for the safety of all players, this may include expulsion from the league.

Anti-Harassment, Hate Speech, and Respect Policy

Members of the WRSC shall conduct themselves at all times in a fair and responsible manner and refrain from comments or behaviours which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic. In particular, behaviour which constitutes harassment or abuse will not be tolerated. WRSC reserves the right to act on violations, up to and including expulsion if deemed necessary.

Waiver & Code of Conduct Policy

No individual, group, team, etc. is/are to participate in any activity without signing a Waiver and our Code of Conduct.

Disciplinary Policy

In the interest of player safety and providing a positive, recreational sport environment, members shall not engage in activity or behavior that endangers the safety of others.

In addition to penalties that may be called during games, WRSC reserves the right to address dangerous and overly aggressive play. If deemed necessary for the safety of all players and the integrity of the Club, this may include suspension and/or expulsion from the league. No refund(s) will be given in this event.

When a disciplinary issue or Code of Conduct violation has been reported, WRSC will investigate the issue and make a decision on how to move forward. You will be notified wherever possible in the manner you indicate on your registration form. These decisions are final.

Sick Policy

If you are sick or not feeling well (even if you tested negative for Covid-19), please do not attend any activities or gym sessions.

Refund Policy

Our refund policy for each season will be stated in the registration form. Refunds will never be given for ejection from the league due to disciplinary actions, weather cancellations, and/or injury.

Non-Payment Policy

If you are registered after the stated Refund date on the registration form (or it has been 10 days since you registered), you have not contacted WRSC by email at windsorrainbowsportsclub@gmail.com about your choice to use the $0 option, and we have not received any registration fee from you,  you are expected to pay the "standard" registration fee. WRSC reserves the right to invoice you for this amount. If you do not pay the fee by the deadline on this invoice, you will not be allowed to register for any subsequent seasons until your amount outstanding is paid in full.

In some instances where a substantial amount of funds are outstanding, we may need to send out to debt collection.

Please keep in mind that we are a small community group and funding is hard to come by. The registration fee is already heavily subsidized by sponsors and any grants. It's how we keep our fees low.

Scent Policy

We are a scent-free environment. Please refrain for wearing any scents while participating in activities (eg. perfume, cologne, after shave, eau de toilette, etc.). Wearing scents can impede other members' ability to participate. Let's get sweaty and be proud of it!

Injury Policy

All injuries incurred during an activity, no matter how small must be reported to the individual running the activity, your team captain, or Heather "Bolt" Touma directly.
